Sheshan (佘山) is a pair (two) of hills in the Songjiang district of Shanghai. We did hiking on Sheshan mountain. There are two hills, one is East Sheshan and the other is Western Sheshan. The area around the two hills is a forest park.

Sheshan is the only mountain range in Shanghai. The bamboo forest walkway, the hiking trails, thousands of plant species, birds, and picnic place make the perfect place day trip destination. It is a natural and cultural site,

observatory and giant Basilica at the peak of west Sheshan. The place is in general known by locals and it is far from the center of Shanghai.

East Sheshan

The hiking and trekking trails are good for all skill levels and are open all year round for FREE. we started hiking from the South gate of East Sheshan and climbed 368 stairs.

West Sheshan

There are many visitors there, we started from the East gate and firstly reached Xiudaozhe Tower. At the top of West Sheshan, we have seen Sheshan Basilica (a church), and Sheshan Observatory.

How to get Sheshan Mountain?

Take the subway line 9 and get off at Sheshan station. Then, take bus No. 92 and get off at Sheshan National Forest Park.

Ticket Price of Sheshan Mountain

The entry fee of Sheshan National Forest Park is FREE.
