How I spent 20 hours layover in Colombo, Sri Lanka. That’s not my first time in Colombo but actually, it’s my fourth time to get a transit visa of 20 hours layover in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Also the last vlog of the trip to Japan & Korea (all videos).
I arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo, Sri Lanka from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur to Karachi) on my travelling way to Pakistan and I had a stay of 20 hours layover in Colombo. As my transit visa was approved and I decided to visit Negombo beach in Negombo, Sri Lanka.
Immigration at Bandaranaike International Airport
I arrived at the immigration counter after clearing the Screening Test (COVID-19) and submitting the health declaration form.
The immigration officer asked me:
why do you want to go outside?
and then the officer asked another officer (who was on another counter beside him), other officer told him: don’t give a transit visa and then again immigration officer addressed to me:
Did you arrive before? do you have 20 hours layover in Colombo?
do you have a hotel booking? after that I got a transit visa.
My hotel was near to Kattuwa Bus stop and Train station and it was 13 km from the airport, need to change to buses. I lost my location while talking to Tuk Tuk drivers and just I had a final destination red mark. I walked almost 2 km and arrived at a bus stop, then I confirmed from locals which bus I need to get in.
