You’ve heard the song “Oppa Gangnam Style” by PSY, right? That viral hit that took over the internet back in 2012. Well, Seoul made a whole statue for it. And it’s not just a random statue—it’s two giant golden hands doing that famous dance move!
I found it outside COEX Mall in the Gangnam District, which is already famous for its fancy shops and K-pop vibes. As soon as I walked up, the song started playing on a loop. I couldn’t help but smile. It felt a bit cheesy at first, but honestly, it’s fun! Everyone around was taking photos, doing the dance, and just enjoying the moment.
If you’re into Korean pop culture or just want to snap a cool Instagram photo, this is worth the stop. Plus, it’s free to visit and takes just a few minutes unless you’re like me and decide to do the dance and laugh at yourself after.

Starfield Library
The Starfield Library is a public library inside the COEX mall, There is a public space, anyone can freely come to sit down, take a break, and read books or visit the library. Bookshelves look like a building when you see them in photos, but actually not. You can find every age over there.
After taking a few goofy pictures at the statue, I headed into COEX Mall and came across Starfield Library. I had seen pictures online, but seeing it in real life? Wow.
This place is huge—tall bookshelves stretching up to the ceiling, glowing lights, and this calm vibe even though it’s inside a mall. It honestly felt like stepping into a peaceful world away from the city rush.
Even if you’re not big on reading, the design alone is worth it. People were sitting on comfy benches, reading books, scrolling on their phones, or just taking photos. I ended up sitting there for a while with a coffee, just enjoying the space. Oh, and yes—it’s free to enter and open to everyone.
If you’re into photos, this place is a goldmine. I must’ve taken 30 pictures from different angles because the bookshelves just look so good in every shot.
Features 13-meter-high bookshelves and thousands of books and magazines.

Itaewon Station – A Food Lover’s Paradise in Seoul
If you’re in Seoul and craving something beyond Korean BBQ or kimchi, Itaewon is the place to go. I stopped by Itaewon Station (Metro Station) one evening, and wow—I didn’t expect to find such a global food scene right in the heart of the city!
This neighborhood is famous for being one of the most international areas in Seoul. As soon as you step out of the station, you’ll notice restaurants and street food stalls offering dishes from all over the world—Pakistani curry, Turkish kebabs, Mexican tacos, Thai noodles, and even American-style burgers. It honestly felt like I was walking through a mini food fair from different continents
I ended up trying a Pakistani Food buffet from a restaurant run by a friendly guy who’s been living in Korea for years. The food was expensive, around $25. Just a few steps away, I found a Pakistani restaurant with authentic masala chai that tasted like home.
Itaewon in Seoul is home to over 300 international restaurants representing food from more than 34 countries.
